COACH LIANG- THE CHIROPRACTOR

While being a competitive powerlifter over the past 4 years, Liang has been balancing the demands of being a full-time student throughout his powerlifting career, whilst achieving significant milestones along the way. Liang was rewarded 1st Runner-Up at the 2023 National Powerlifting Championships as a U74kg Junior, which earned him a spot on the National Powerlifting Team. Liang also set up multiple national squat records during his junior years. In 2023, Liang was ranked #8 Men’s Sub-Junior/Junior Powerlifting in Malaysia, based on GL Points. These accomplishments have shaped his understanding of what it takes to excel in the sport of powerlifting while maintaining a healthy balance between powerlifting and daily commitments.

Also being a chiropractor, with extensive knowledge in sports injuries and human physiology, Liang helps athletes in managing injuries while still training optimally in the gym. Liang also provides professional advice which helps to steer athletes away from injuries and stay in the game as long as possible. Liang is a strong advocate of playing the long game, thus being able to lift as many years as possible while maintaining a healthy career is crucial in Liang’s training philosophy.

With his certification of MAP Powerlifting Certified Coach, Liang has been coaching athletes during his university days and helping them reach their goals in the gym. With his previous experience in balancing powerlifting with his studies, and now with his profession as a chiropractor, Liang helps athletes who are passionate about powerlifting while maintaining balance with multiple aspects of their daily lives. Having a client-centered approach to training and programming has always been the central idea of Liang’s coaching concepts. The best training program is a sustainable and realistic program, as commitment and consistency is key!
